A HOUSE TO REMEMBER |
|
This story is taken from, with permission from the owner, another website called Asian Horror. Although the site has not been updated recently, it still has quite a few interesting stories! Click on the button below to visit it. (A new window will be opened, so you will still be able to read the story below) This happened about 4 years back. Just thinking about it gives me the shivers! Okay, I was 10 then, but I remember it clearly. Before moving to the house I'm living in right now, I believed that I lived in a real actual haunted house. What made me think the house was haunted was that sometimes, when the whole family went out for dinner or whatever, we would always make sure that all the lights in the house were switched off. But, when we came back home, the lights in the bedrooms would all be switched on! We didn't think it was a ghost at that time. We thought that probably someone broke into the house. But when dad and my brothers checked, there would be no sign of breaking in, and nothing was gone, except that some stuffs were moved around, like plates and spoons from the kitchen were on my bed, towels and clothes from my parents room were in a basin in the toilet. Talk about WEIRD. Not only that, it happened several times, not just once. Once, during bulan puasa (Ramadan according to the Muslim calendar), my sister told this story. She was still a little girl and mom wouldn't let her to fast, so usually every morning when its time to 'sahur' (a meal taken early in the morning before fasting, before the sun rises), mom wouldn't wake my sister up. One morning, however, my sister were startled out of her sleep by somebody's voice calling her. It was a lady's voice, sweet, gentle and all, but something wasn't quite right. Her voice sounded as if she were in a box or something. Out of grogginess from sleep, my sister assumed it was my mother, calling from downstairs (the kitchen) so Annie (my sister's name) stumbled off her bed and sleepily went downstairs. But, instead of seeing my mother and the rest of the family ready to eat as she expected, the whole place was pitch black! Not a single light was on. She could only make out the faint light of the microwave, and unmistakably, the sound of someone or something cooking, the pots and pans clanking and all, plus the microwave was on with nothing in it! My sister was scared out of her mind, she screamed like hell and ran up the stairs to her room and slammed the door. Just one question: According to Muslim belief, aren't Syaitan and other evil beings supposed to be chained up during Ramadan? So, Ramadan *should* be a rather uneventful month right, supernaturally speaking? The Syaitan and Iblis (devils and demons) are the ones who 'disturb' humans. If it wasn't them, I wonder what that creature your sister heard was. |
